Before this weekend, I was a Saratoga newbie. My boyfriend on the other hand, has visited many time before, especially in the summer to visit the track on race days. The town is less than three hour ride from Westchester, New York and lined with gorgeous autumn trees.
Once we arrived, we checked in at the Saratoga Arms Hotel, which was a perfect choice for us. It was right in the middle of town so it was only walking distance from anywhere you’d want to go. The bedrooms were spacious yet cozy and there was even a fireplace in our bedroom.
The first day was spent exploring the downtown area, which was filled with coffee shops and boutiques. You could literally get lost browsing through all the one of a kind pieces. The next day, we headed to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, which is more of a giant park. There, we decided to take a ‘quick’ walk through the woods, which after being lost several times, turned into an all day hike. (Guess we won’t shouldn’t quit our day job to become explorers.) Good thing I wore my favorite, super comfy, stretch jeans from Zara. I paired them with my Steve Madden slip on sneakers, and this Forever21 leather jacket (on sale here for under $12). Then I added this over sized scarf and hat to bear the cold.
We ate dinner at two amazing restaurants, that I would definitely come back to. The first night we walked to 15 Church which was right around the corner from our hotel. The food and drinks were fantastic and the staff was very friendly. Just a tip: save room for the zeppoles, they are NOT to be missed! The second and last night we ate at Prime which is actually located at the Saratoga National Golf Club. The club was gorgeous at night and our steaks were delicious!
I wore this rust colored, suede trench the first night and it made me feel like I was wrapped in Fall (on sale here) with these must have heeled sandals from BooHoo. Being on vacation mode, I decided to take photos after dinner. Poor planning on my part, as no outfit looks as good after a huge three course meal. So sorry for the lack of pictures. Before we knew it, the weekend was over and we couldn’t wait to plan our next trip back!
